Malaysia’s Top Exports and Imports 2023

MalaysiaMalaysia is one of the leading countries in the world that has highly developed in terms of economy and infrastructure over the last few years. The latest data shows that the exports from Malaysia increased by nearly 47% in May 2021.  Whereas there were nearly 63% more exports in April 2021 as compared to the last year.  This place is well connected in terms of roadways, airways, and ocean transport. This has led to the import and export of raw and finished products from foreign countries. Due to the immense growth, it has attracted people from different parts of the world and has promoted overseas trade.

The total exports of Malaysia as per April 2021 data, there was nearly a 43% jump in the total export.  Whereas, Malaysia’s revenue of product exports and imports in 2019 was $273B and $207B, respectively. Also, the revenue of service export and import have also increased significantly, with total values worth $36.8B and $44B in 2018 respectively. The per capita of product exports in 2019 was $8.54k billion USD, and for products, the import was $6.47k billion USD.

Malaysia’s Top 10 Export Goods 2023

Malaysia exports a variety of products to foreign countries. Integrated circuits and micro assemblies are exported in bulk quantities that result in a total value worth $49,384,682,000.

Next to that, processed petroleum oils are exported to the neighboring countries with a value worth $12,784,896,000.

Clothing accessories are also exported to other Asian countries with a net worth of  $8,447,129,000.

Solar power diodes/semi-conductors are also exported, which makes a value of $7,617,540,000 approximately.

Phone system devices: Computers, optical readers and Crude oil are also exported that have resulted in a value of $5,326,714,000, $4,981,705,000, and $4,717,198,000, respectively. These goods and products are in high demand in foreign countries, and their values are increasing on a daily basis.

Malayasia’s Top 10 Export Countries

Malaysia includes a number of export countries that have established good relations in terms of trading. China holds the first position with a value of 33 billion USD.

Next to that, Malaysia exports its finished goods and products in bulk quantities to Singapore and the United States with a value worth 33 billion and 23 billion USD.

Hong Kong and Japan are also included in Malaysia’s export countries list with values worth 15.7 and 13.4 billion USD. Malaysia also exports its products to Thailand, India, and other Asian countries in significant quantities. Vietnam and Korea are also included in the list with values worth 8.38 billion and 8.14 billion USD respectively.

However, as per the latest data of April 2021, there was a huge uptrend of Exports in Malaysia. The exports figure goes up 63% year on year (source)

Malaysia’s Top 10 Import Countries

Malaysia imports its products from different countries across the world. China ranks the top with a total value worth 42 billion USD.

Next to that, Singapore and the USA are the leading importing countries of Malaysia with values worth 21 billion and 16.5 billion USD. Other Asian countries are also included in the list, along with Thailand, contributing a value of 10.6 billion USD. Indonesia, Korea, and Germany are also on the list. Malaysia’s import countries list also includes India that accounts for about a value worth 5.85 billion USD. These countries have also formed a strong and friendly relation with Malaysia that has increased and promoted overseas trade over the years.

Malaysia imports a variety of goods from its neighboring countries. This includes electrical machinery and sound equipment that hold a value worth 55 billion USD. Next to that, mineral oils and fuels, and bituminous substances hold a value of 29 billion USD.

Next to nuclear reactors, boilers and machinery rank third in the list with a value of 20 billion USD. Plastics and iron, and steel are also included in the import goods list of Malaysia. Vehicles and accessories are also included with a value worth 48 billion USD.

Optical and medical products along with surgical instruments are also included with a total value of 5.97 billion USD. Also, organic chemicals and chemical products are also included in Malaysia’s imports product list with values worth 3.81 billion and 3.7 billion USD, respectively.
